One of my favorite death/grind bands (crust punk influence early on) of all time. They defined HEAVY IMO. What is your favorite album and why? For me, it is Realm Of Chaos. The song "World Eater" just gets me going...

World Eater IS the best song off of RoC (and one of the best they've done), but my favorite has and will always be The IVth Crusade.

I say The IVth Crusade too, though I haven't really heard a bad album, or song from Bolt Thrower!

This band defines consistent.

My afvorite is War Master. That album defined the sound they kept on until today. Everything they made after WM is more or less interchangeable with WM, but they are honest about it, they see it as a continual improvement of what they do and dont intend to invent something new. I dont mean this in a negative way, as I really love everything from Bolt Thrower, and their stage performance is awesome.

The first one is my favourite because of its atmosphere, but speaking of guitar work i like FOR VICTORY better than all others - guitar sound is just PURE APOCALYPSE!

Realm Of Chaos is fucking amazing, but I like In Battle There Is No Law a bit more because it has the most "punk attitude" of all their records (IMO).

For anyone interested in some sick Bolt Thrower worship bands, I made a short, but good list of stuff that is very (not just a little) influenced by Bolt Thrower, some are almost "clones":

Anathemized - Disdain
Mutilation (Pol) - Possessed By Reality (Make sure you at least get this one!)
Mutilation (Pol) - Conflict Inside (They signed with Empire and caught up with the tech trend, still decent though.)
Disgusting - Shapeshifterbirthblues
Excarnated - Homicidal Decimation
Excarnated - Purging the Earth (this one sounds like Bolt Thrower meets Mortician.)
Sanctimony - Eternal Suffering

Their best release for me is still In Battle There is No Law.There is no overpowering that primitive warmachine.
On the side note:
If you want other BT worship bands try
War Master(From Texas) - Chapel of the Apocalypse
Sanctum(These guys just caught exactly the feeling of a would be successor to IBTNL)-On The Horizon

Looks Like I'm the first person to give "For Victory" a vote. By far my favorite album by them. Followed closely by the "IVth Crusade".

Every Bolt Thrower album is amazing.
I would rank them:

Realms
Those Once Loyal
For Victory
Warmaster
Mercenary
In Battle
IVth Crusade
H-V-P
